Education arouses curiosity in a child’s mind and creates interest for higher learning. Timely financial assistance is essential for sustaining child's interest in education. As we preferred to make efforts to impact the lives of youngsters we chose education.

Principal Objects of the Trust

  • To give help to Students in the form of scholarship, free-ship, prizes, free books.
  • To establish and support educational institutions for the benefit of students with less privileged backgrounds.

Status of the Trust: Registration

  • Charitable Public Trust Registered under Greater Bombay Municipal Charitable Trust Act 1950
  • Registered under Section 80 G of Income Tax Act of India 1961 for tax exemption.

Policies and Rules
Financial assistance is extended to students who have secured a minimum of 60 % marks and whose parent’s income is low. The eligibility criterion is strictly followed to ensure that the needy and deserving gets the benefit.

Applications seeking the assistance are collected in the beginning of the academic year and the eligible students are short-listed for the financial assistance.

Fee is paid directly to the Institutes.

To ensure that the parents are serious and uncompromising in discipline and judgment as to the future of their children, the parents of the eligible students have to contribute 2 months fee and HMCT extends the balance financial assistance.

Mode of Contribution
Disbursement per student is approx max INR 4000 pa and the donor could contribute choosing either of the following options:

  • Make yearly contribution to the charity fund of the trust @ INR 4000 approx 90 $ dollars and / or in multiples of INR 4000 per year depending on the number of students he/she wishes to help.

    Or

  • The donor could choose to make donation which shall be invested in Govt. of India securities, annual income from which shall be utilized to extend the financial assistance to the students. For example the current yield on ten years GOI paper being around 6.5%, the donor should donate an amount of INR 61,000 per student intended to be helped.

Method of Remittance
Funds to be remitted to the credit of the Account No. 01100050194 with State Bank of Mysore, Khar, Mumbai – 400 054 – All particulars of the donor are to be sent to the trust office by email to be able to maintain proper records.

To make the bright children self-reliant and instill in them an urge to serve the society. HMCT is targeting to reach-out to as many children as possible per year.

Monitoring and Evaluation
The performance of the students is continuously monitored and to be eligible to the assistance they have to sustain their good performance i.e. 60% and above marks in all annual exams.

Every year more and more help requests are being received.

Achievements
HMCT in the last 5 years has extended the help to 1170 children so far and has since disbursed a sum of INR 39.96 lacs.

Mr. Haresh Mehta is Trustee of HMCT. He is the founder of the H.M. Group of Companies and is dedicatedly working for accomplishing the HMCT mission as he considers it his social responsibility.
